Metro Crisis Coordination-Information & Referral Specialist

Job Summary: Coordinate and support crisis housing services delivered to people with intellectual disabilities and/or mental health diagnoses.

Mount Olivet Rolling Acres – MORA – is a diverse and inclusive nonprofit that has supported adults, seniors and children with developmental disabilities, behavioral health needs as well as age-related and chronic medical conditions for over 50 years in the Twin Cities metro.

An array of services: Adult Day Services, Contracted Case Management, Community Supports, over 30 Residential Homes, Respite, Therapeutic Recreation, Training for Guardians & Families, and a unique therapeutic Summer Camp for Youth with Autism. Our Metro Crisis Coordination Program (MCCP) offers a safety net of crucial and cost-effective services for adults and children

Salary Range: $59,000-$65,000

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordination of assigned referrals and ongoing communication with those awaiting potential crisis or transitional placement
  • Coordination of referrals to crisis and transitional housing
  • Communication with crisis housing providers, clients, and their IDT Members
  • Assure all required paperwork is obtained and completed
  • Act as conduit for information communicated between the 7 county Steering Committee and crisis home providers
  • Maintain database for individuals in the metro crisis and transition bed pool
  • Attendance at regularly scheduled client meetings at the crisis homes as needed
  • Advise crisis home providers on best practices
  • Facilitates Crisis Provider meetings
  • Review of billing documents for client placements at crisis homes / communication with MORA billing department
  • Works harmoniously with and shows due respect for other employees, supervisors, vendors and clients
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Desirable Qualifications:

  • combination of 6 years of related experience and/or education
  • good knowledge of the crisis system
  • good verbal and written communication skills
  • experience working with computer databases and spreadsheets
  • experience with behavioral support strategies and crisis plan development

Required Qualifications:

  • must pass Department of Human Services background check and maintain “qualified” status
  • must not be excluded from working in government health programs by the Office of Inspector General
  • must be able to successfully complete company’s basic job skills assessment
  • if using own vehicle for company business, must have a current valid driver’s license and must have insurance as required by state law.
