Positive Support Specialist-(Metro Crisis Coordination Program)

Mount Olivet Rolling Acres – MORA – is a diverse and inclusive nonprofit has supported adults, seniors and children with developmental disabilities, behavioral health needs as well as age-related and chronic medical conditions for over 50 years in the Twin Cities metro.

An array of services: Adult Day Services, Contracted Case Management, Community Supports, over 30 Residential Homes, Respite, Therapeutic Recreation, Training for Guardians & Families, and a unique therapeutic Summer Camp for Youth with Autism. Our Metro Crisis Coordination Program (MCCP) offers a safety net of crucial and cost-effective services for adults and children.

Mount Olivet Rolling Acres is hiring a compassionate and motivated Positive Support Specialist-Metro Crisis Coordination Program (MCCP) to provide community-based crisis support services to individuals of all ages who live within the 7-county metro area and have an IDD diagnosis, related condition, and those receiving services through a CADI Waiver.

Salary Range: $36,400-$52,195 DOQ

Key Duties and Responsibilities for the Positive Support Specialist:

  • Develop and evaluate behavior reduction/elimination strategies that promote least restrictive and approved alternatives.
  • Understand co-occurring mental health or neurocognitive disorders.
  • Data collection, tracking, reporting, assessment, measurement of behavior and interpretation of data.
  • Understand and demonstrate ethical considerations related to behavioral services.
  • Functional analysis and functional assessment.
  • Identify desired outcomes for multiple stakeholders.
  • Select and recommend intervention strategies to help achieve desired outcomes.
  • Provide training for staff/caregivers.
  • Instruct staff on treatment programs and methodologies.
  • Communicate with other professionals.
  • Work harmoniously with and show due respect for other employees, supervisors, vendors, and clients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Strongly prefer a person with a master’s degree from an accredited college or university in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields, with at least 4,000 hours of post-master’s supervised experience in the delivery of clinical services
  • Minimum of a BA in Psychology or related field and 4 years+ supervised experience in the supervision and service provision for persons with Intellectual Disabilities and complex behavior concerns including with individuals who exhibit challenging behaviors as well as co-occurring mental disorders or neuro-cognitive disorders
  • Knowledge of rules, regulations, and professional and ethical guidelines
  • Translate behavior observations into quantifiable data

Required Qualifications:

  • Must pass Department of Human Services background check and maintain “qualified” status
  • Must not be excluded from working in government health programs by the Office of Inspector General
  • Must be able to successfully complete company’s basic job skills assessment
  • If using own vehicle for company business, must have a current valid driver’s license and must have insurance as required by state law.
