Life-Sharing

A Home. A Family. A Community.

Life Sharing provides individuals with disabilities or mental health needs the opportunity to live in a nurturing family setting — not just a residence, but a true home. In this model, the license holder is more than a caregiver. They become a mentor, advocate, and connection to the broader community, fostering meaningful relationships and inclusion.

At MORA Life Sharing, we support this unique living environment by walking alongside providers every step of the way.

How We Support Providers

We handle the details so providers can focus on what matters most — the people in their home.

Our team ensures compliance with Minnesota’s 245D regulations, managing:

  • Required documentation and paperwork
  • Ongoing training and credential updates
  • Regulatory oversight and guidance
  • Monitoring legislative changes and compliance updates

When regulations change, we stay ahead of it — so providers don’t have to.

This partnership allows license holders to spend less time navigating administrative requirements and more time building strong, supportive relationships within their home.

Who Can Access Life Sharing Services?

Life Sharing services are available to:

  • Providers licensed by a county or tribal agency
  • Homes licensed for no more than two individuals

Individuals access Life Sharing through a qualified, licensed provider operating under this model.

What Makes MORA Life Sharing Different?

We don’t just oversee services — we build relationships.

MORA staff serve as a trusted right-hand partner to each provider. We take the time to truly get to know both the provider and the individuals in their home to ensure the highest quality of care and support.

Our approach includes:

  • Hands-on guidance to ensure providers feel confident in their responsibilities
  • Proactive training and follow-up support
  • Collaboration with individuals and their support teams
  • Dedicated oversight to maintain 245D compliance
  • A commitment to continuity of care

We walk alongside providers — not just as regulators, but as partners.

Families consistently share how meaningful it is to see their loved one living in a home where they feel like part of the family.

One provider’s daughter shared that the individuals in their home are simply “the guys” — because they’ve been part of the family for so many years. They attend holidays, celebrations, and family gatherings together. They aren’t guests. They’re family.
That’s the heart of Life Sharing.
