As the Marketing and Communications Manager at Mount Olivet Rolling Acres, I was invited to help document our 2025 Employee Recognition Brunch. As an employee of just nine months, this was my first experience attending an event dedicated to celebrating years of service, and it left a lasting impression.
The brunch honored employees reaching service milestones ranging from one year to an incredible forty years with MORA. Seeing so many team members gathered together, each representing a chapter of our organization’s history, was both humbling and inspiring. This was more than a recognition event; it was a celebration of commitment, relationships, and purpose.
Those celebrating 20 to 40 years of service were recognized individually by their supervisors or our Executive Director. Each speech was unique, sharing personal stories and qualities that made each employee special. Some stories highlighted quiet leadership, others unwavering advocacy, and others the ability to bring joy and stability to the people we serve.
Despite the differences in roles and experiences, a common thread wove through every recognition: care, compassion, and kindness. These qualities weren’t just mentioned, they were clearly lived. It was evident that these employees don’t simply do their jobs; they show up every day with heart, dedication, and a deep respect for both their colleagues and the individuals supported by MORA.
The event beautifully reflected our mission:
“We enhance personal growth for people with disabilities by offering unique services supported by a caring, dedicated, and knowledgeable team.”
Looking around the room, it was clear that this mission is carried forward by people who truly believe in it.
As someone still relatively new to Mount Olivet Rolling Acres, this event gave me a deeper appreciation for the culture and values that define our organization. It was a powerful reminder that our strength lies in our people, and that long-term dedication is built on trust, compassion, and shared purpose.

- 2 years of service: 40 employees
- 5 years of service: 5 employees
- 10 years of service: 6 employees
- 15 years of service: 1 employee
- 20 years of service: 3 employees
- 25 years of service: 5 employees
- 30 years of service: 2 employees
- 35 years of service: 2 employees
- 40 years of service: 1 employee
Each milestone represents time, growth, and countless moments of impact—both seen and unseen.
