There’s nothing quite like a summer carnival to bring people together, and this year’s MORA Carnival was truly one to remember!
On Wednesday, August 19, Mount Olivet Rolling Acres (MORA) came alive with laughter, music, delicious food, games, creative activities, and plenty of smiles. We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful summer evening to celebrate the people we support and the wonderful community that surrounds them.
From the moment the festivities began, there was something for everyone to enjoy. Guests played games, created art, made balloon animals, enjoyed cotton candy and ice cream, and gathered with friends and family. The smell of burgers and hot dogs filled the air while live music kept the celebration going throughout the evening.
And, of course, we had a few very special guests!
Our carnival visitors were delighted to meet some adorable goats, and we also had a fun capybara mascot! These cute friends brought plenty of excitement and made the evening even more memorable.
Our Biggest Carnival Yet!
This year’s carnival brought our biggest turnout ever, and we were thrilled to see so many people come out to celebrate with us.
In fact, we had such a fantastic crowd that we actually had to make a quick trip to the grocery store for more food! It’s safe to say that’s a pretty wonderful problem to have.
The incredible turnout was a wonderful reminder of how much our community cares about the people we support. Everywhere we looked, there were people connecting, laughing, dancing, enjoying a meal together, and making memories.
It Takes a Community
An event this special doesn’t happen without an incredible team behind it. We want to extend a very special thank-you to our amazing Carnival Committee, our dedicated staff volunteers, and everyone who worked so hard to make the day possible.
We are also incredibly grateful to our corporate volunteers from Ascend Financial and Westin Minneapolis, along with the many other volunteers who generously gave their time and energy. Whether you helped with setup, ran a booth, assisted throughout the day, or simply showed up with your family to celebrate, you played an important part in making the carnival such a success.
A heartfelt thank-you also goes to Kowalski’s Eden Prairie for their generous donation of hamburgers, hot dogs, and buns. We are so grateful for your support in helping us feed our hungry carnival crowd!
And we can’t forget our amazing entertainment and creative contributors: our wonderful band, the goat lady who brought some very special four-legged guests, and our photographer, Peter Stratmoen, who captured so many beautiful moments from the day.
Enjoy some photos from this wonderful day. We hope they warm your heart and give you a glimpse of just how much happiness, laughter, and community filled the MORA Carnival.
