Jack’s Joyful Journey

Four Years ago, Jack had his first day at Discover Summer Camp, a unique and specialized camp for children with autism. Jack struggled with challenging behaviors, like throwing items and unintentionally causing destruction, when faced with unfamiliar environments. Unlike other camps, Discover Summer staff sought to understand Jack’s behaviors, made accommodations for his needs, and welcomed him with open arms.  Our dedicated staff quickly adapted to Jack’s behaviors and created a nurturing environment where he could thrive.  Four years later, Jack is still attending Discover Summer Camp, and his behavior has dramatically changed. Jack is now flourishing, building friendships and confidence. His family has seen remarkable growth in his social skills and self-assurance, both at camp and beyond. Jack is joyful and living his best life.

At Discover Summer Camp and all of MORA, we believe in the inherent worth of all people, just as they are. We view challenging behaviors as opportunities for growth and adapt to each child’s unique needs. The transformations we’ve witnessed in Jack and many others are truly inspiring. We are grateful to work with such amazing kids!

As we look to 2025, we hope to raise $45,000 to fund Discover Summer Camp. Your support will provide joy and transformative experiences for all the children we serve. Together, we can continue making a meaningful impact on the lives of youth like Jack.

Thank you for your support!
