Medicaid Update: March 2, 2026

Dear Friends of Mount Olivet Rolling Acres (MORA),

On February 25, 2026, Vice President Vance, in conjunction with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and Dr. Mehmet Oz, announced that certain Medicaid payments in Minnesota will be placed on hold. At this time, CMS and the federal government have not clarified which services or sectors will be affected.

Because 99% of MORA’s funding comes through Medicaid, we are closely monitoring this situation. We are actively seeking clarification from both state and federal legislators to better understand any potential impact.

Please know that it is business as usual at MORA. Our commitment to providing high-quality care and maintaining professional standards remains unchanged. Our leadership and advocacy teams are staying informed and will share updates as soon as more information becomes available, especially if there are implications for our team members or the individuals we serve.

If you would like to help protect disability services in Minnesota and across the country, here are a few meaningful ways to get involved:

1. Find out who represents you.
Start by identifying your federal and state legislators using the “Who Represents Me?” tool.

2. Contact your legislators.
Because these potential payment holds are at the federal level, it is especially important to reach out to your members of Congress. However, sharing your concerns with state representatives is equally important for long-term protection of disability services.

  • Call their offices and express your concerns about the actions taken by CMS and the federal government.
  • Follow up with a written message or email.
  • Most importantly, share your personal stories. Legislators want to understand how funding changes could affect people with disabilities, families, providers, and communities.

3. Attend Disability Services Day at the Capitol.
Join the Disability Services Day Rally on March 24 in St. Paul. The rally begins at 10:00 a.m. and will feature speakers advocating for disability services and the individuals who rely on them. Learn more here.

4. Help spread the message.
Visit the State of Minnesota’s “Medicaid Matters” website to learn more and share information with your networks.

MORA will continue to monitor this issue closely. Please stay connected through our newsletters (join our mailing list), social media (Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn), and News & Events Blog at moracares.org. You can also find updates on the State of Minnesota’s Program Integrity website or by signing up for the DHS newsletter.

We are in this together. Let’s raise our voices in support of the people we care about — those MORA serves and all Minnesotans living with disabilities.

With gratitude,
Katie Elleraas, Sr. Director of Advancement
