Adult Day Services
Adult Day Services (ADS) is a unique therapeutic recreation-based program for adults and seniors with intellectual or physical disabilities. Through engaging activities, individuals learn, meet their goals, and create meaningful friendships.
Work at ADS!- Small staff-to-client ratios creates opportunities for staff to get to know each individual and provide person-centered care.

Case Management

Licensed and trained professionals provide high quality services that appreciate each individual’s strengths and goals. Case Managers are passionate advocates for individuals, families, and guardians.
Work in Case Management!- Hennepin, Dakota, Anoka and Goodhue counties
- Serving over 2,200 individual clients of all ages
- Person-centered coordination for housing, respite, homemaking, employment supports, PCA, behavioral health, nurse visits, home and vehicle modifications and more.
- WAIVERS SERVED: Alternative Care Program (AC); Elderly Waiver (EW); Developmental Disability (DD); Community Access for Disability Inclusion (CADI); Brain Injury (BI); Community Alternative Care (CAC) as well as Non-Waiver

Community Supports

Dedicated Community Support Professionals provide one-on-one care to individuals with intellectual or physical disabilities that live independently, with family, partners, or friends.
- Community Supports create individualized plans based on client’s goals, interests, and hobbies.
- Provide support in client’s home and assist with daily living, appointments, shopping and more.
- Provide supportive respite for family and other caregivers.
- Opportunities to utilize MORA’s Therapeutic Recreation services including computer lab, Special Olympics, dances, crafts and more!
Discover Summer

Discover Summer program offers weeklong sessions of daytime programing throughout the summer for youth ages 8-17 with a diagnosed disability.
- Youth will experience structured activities that are designed to develop, maintain, and increase their skills through social engagement, are adapted to meet the needs and abilities of each individual, and provide skill building opportunities to increase independence with self-care, communication skills, and interpersonal skills.
- Includes participation in nature, access to MORA’s waterfront property and pontoon, the recreational gym that includes multi-sensory and gross motor equipment, and community engagement with day trips to various places and with volunteers who are invited to join our groups.
- Individuals will be invited to increase their confidence with fishing, paddle boating, swimming, computer use, playing various games, and creative arts.
- The property also has an in-ground trampoline and accessible swings for use.
- Located in Victoria, MN
Staff are specially trained to assist with and adapt programming to meet the needs of each individual through person-centered implementation while providing support, supervision, and monitoring at a small staff to client ratio.
- Provide individualized planning to ensure adaptations are made for further skill building, an increase in confidence while participating in activities, building coping and problem-solving skills, and support while completing activities of interest and trying new things.
- MORA nursing staff are available to support each person’s health care needs while at Discover Summer in addition to the trained staff who provide the daily programming.
Metro Crisis Coordination Program

A part of MORA, MCCP facilitates immediate and cost-effective services to provide a crisis safety net for persons with intellectual disabilities or mental health issues – and focus on preventative measures for the future. Assessment, strategies, trainings, behavioral support, crisis homes, and more. Since 1996, MCCP is the only agency of its kind in Minnesota. MCCP coordinates a collaborative effort among the Twin Cities’ counties of Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, and Washington.

MORA’s Recreation Department offers a variety of opportunities to individuals receiving MORA services. These hosted activities promote independence, skill building, social interactions and community inclusion while being person-centered. They are adapted to meet the needs of each individual, ensuring participation and fun can be had by all!
- Trained and creative staff host small and large group events and plans many interactive indoor and outdoor experiences.
- Plan reoccurring weekly and monthly activities as well as spontaneous events that occur based on participant interest.
- Encourage everyone to try new things, continue doing things they love, and get to do so surrounded by their friends. Meeting new people, going new places, and participating in activities led by volunteers through supported social interactions and in a safe environment can truly make a difference in each person’s lives.
- Host and coach a variety of Special Olympics sports, promoting inclusive participation. Includes practice sessions and coordination of state and regional competitions.
The Pearson Center allows us a space to host activities in a full-size gym, gives access to a sensory room, and to a computer lab with adaptive technology tools. It is lakefront property on Schutz Lake so we can enjoy a variety of water activities, pontoon rides, and have access to the pool house.
McGregor
The Recreation Department hosts 4-day sessions during the summer for individuals to participate in a camp-like experience on lakefront property with the comfort of 4 fully furnished cabins to enjoy their stay in. Recreation staff do the cooking, planning, and host many fun outdoor activities that include boating, fishing, creative crafting, and storytelling around the bonfire.
The property and cabins are also available to MORA staff and client families for a cozy get away up north while still accessing many amenities of home.
Residential Homes

Community Home Locations
MORA Residential homes are located in the western Twin Cities metro — including Andover, Bloomington, Brooklyn Park, Chanhassen, Chaska, Excelsior, Eden Prairie, Plymouth, New Hope, Norwood Young America, Minnetonka, Mayer, Shakopee, Victoria, Waconia and more.

We approach supportive housing thoughtfully, considering age, abilities, gender, mental and behavioral health, medical needs as well as personality and hobbies. Each of our homes develop their character between individuals supported, employees, guardians, family, and neighbors becoming a community.
Every home is staffed 24/7 by Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) with nursing and maintenance on-call 24/7.
MORA offers a full therapeutic recreation team, offering daily activities within our homes, at The Pearson Center — our gym located in Victoria — and virtually when the weather requires.
Vacation opportunities are available for clients, DSPs, and families at MORA’s Camp McGregor located in northern Minnesota.
Supported Living Services (SLS)
MORA provides single-family homes for adults and seniors in over 25 homes across the metro in Hennepin, Scott, and Carver County with 3-5 residents in each home.
Intermediate Care Facilities (ICF)
MORA provides single-family homes for adults in 4 homes in the west metro. Two are located on our original property in Victoria, MN on Schutz Lake.
Children’s Home
MORA’s long-term foster care home cares for children ages 4-18 with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). This home, located in Richfield, focuses on growth, independence, and development of real-life skill sets during a critical stage of life with partnerships with schools and Interdisciplinary Teams (IDTs).
Youth Temporary Crisis Home, Andover Youth Support Home (AYSH)
In partnership with our Metro Crisis Coordination Program, AYSH supports children in mental health crisis who need temporary, immediate placement. AYSH provides Support Professionals, a Positive Support Specialist, Nursing, in partnership with families and the child’s school to help get the child back to a healthy, stable place to return home.
Nursing & Health Services
MORA’s team of nurses (RNs and LPNs) provide dedicated support to our residential homes, Adult Day Services, and Community Support Services. The nursing team focuses not only on health but whole quality of life, collaborating with DSPs, medical providers, guardians, and Case Managers. They work with clients on everything from acute and chronic medical and mental health conditions to training and support on medication, durable medical equipment, safety, nutrition, sleep, grooming, and daily care.
Life Sharing

Life-Sharing is a residential service that provides the opportunity for adults with disabilities to live in a home with a person or family who will support them in a person-centered way and share their family experiences and activities with the person. MORA contracts with these homes to provide 245D oversight and compliance.
Life-Sharing homes are operated by the individual/family who owns the home, and the county licenses the physical home. Up to two adults who use disability waiver services can live in each home and are offered the opportunity to participate in a residential setting with a great sense of companionship and community.
MORA can contract with these homes for program management and oversight to ensure quality services are being offered to meet the unique needs of each person receiving services. This includes opportunities for community inclusion, outcome accomplishment, skill building, and service delivery to ensure the service is being provided in a person-centered way and according to their Support Plan.
Training & Education

MORA Training Team
MORA’s experienced Training Team teaches a variety of topics both internally and externally pertaining to disability services and 245 Licensing regulations. These courses are designed to meet the needs of both licensed caregivers and families.
Professional Training Opportunities
MORA places a high value on quality training and skill development. To broaden our impact on the lives of people living with disabilities, we bring our expertise to more than 150 organizations throughout Minnesota, teaching with person-centered values. Offering in-person and virtual sessions for Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professionals (QIDPs), Social Workers, Nurses, Leadership in disability services, Behavior Analysis, and Parents/Guardians/Family Members.

Family Behavior Support Training
At MORA, we understand that parents, guardians, and family members may need some extra support when providing care for loved ones with disabilities and behavioral health needs. MORA’s Family Behavior Support Trainings are customized to meet the needs of each family. Training sessions can be virtual or in-person, with the option of having up to 6 family members attend.
Trainings cover a variety of topics, including:
• Basic understanding of behaviors
• Strategies for prevention and de-escalation
• Self-management and environment modification
• Physical intervention techniques up to and including manual restraint.

Veteran's Program
A few special weekends each year our McGregor cabins host free-of-charge vacation and connection opportunities for esteemed veterans, injured soldiers and their families and friends. Gold Star Families that served/are serving during OEF/OIF (“Operation Enduring Freedom,” the war in Afghanistan, and OIF “Operation Iraqi Freedom,” the Iraq War. Surrounded by nature nourishes healing, mental health and some very special relationships.
Coordinated by MORA’s own Veteran and longtime ICF Residential Supervisor, Kevin McLaughlin.
