Discover Summer program offers weeklong sessions of daytime programing throughout the summer for youth ages 8-17 with a diagnosed disability.
- Youth will experience structured activities that are designed to develop, maintain, and increase their skills through social engagement, are adapted to meet the needs and abilities of each individual, and provide skill building opportunities to increase independence with self-care, communication skills, and interpersonal skills.
- Includes participation in nature, access to MORA’s waterfront property and pontoon, the recreational gym that includes multi-sensory and gross motor equipment, and community engagement with day trips to various places and with volunteers who are invited to join our groups.
- Individuals will be invited to increase their confidence with fishing, paddle boating, swimming, computer use, playing various games, and creative arts.
- The property also has an in-ground trampoline and accessible swings for use.

Staff are specially trained to assist with and adapt programming to meet the needs of each individual through person-centered implementation while providing support, supervision, and monitoring at a small staff to client ratio.
- Provide individualized planning to ensure adaptations are made for further skill building, an increase in confidence while participating in activities, building coping and problem-solving skills, and support while completing activities of interest and trying new things.
- MORA nursing staff are available to support each person’s health care needs while at Discover Summer in addition to the trained staff who provide the daily programming.
2025 Details
Discover Summer will take place between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday of the following weeks:
- Session 1: June 16- June 20
- Session 2: June 23-June 2
- Session 3: July 21-July 25
- Session 4: July 28- August 1
- Session 5: August 4- August 8
The cost for each session is $1440 to cover activities, staffing, daytime transportation, and community experience costs.

FAQ’s
Where is the camp? MORA is located in Victoria, MN with a beautiful waterfront on Schutz Lake. Our camp facilities include a gymnasium, sensory rooms, computer lab, an in-ground trampoline, and accessible swings.
Who are the camp counselors? Our highly trained camp counselors are dedicated college students or recent graduates in Education, Therapeutic Recreation, and other related fields.
What is the counselor to camper ratio? We are proud to say that we have a consistent ratio of 1 counselor to 2 campers. This provides us with the opportunity to build a relationship with each camper and adapt our programing as needed.
What will my child do each day? Our campers enjoy daily indoor and outdoor activities such as games, crafts, fishing, swimming, and paddle boating. The schedule is customized to meet the interests and needs of the campers. Weekly themes include Making Music, LEGO building, and more! One field trip a week is planned for youth to go out and enjoy the community.
What will my child get out of it? Campers have authentic opportunities to learn and practice social skills, self-regulation strategies, and increase their confidence. Open communication between families and staff creates a team to ensure your child has a successful summer day camp experience!
