It is with great sadness that we share the passing of David Quam, who passed away at his home on the morning of Monday, October 12, following a battle with a terminal illness.
For those who had the privilege of knowing David, you know what a special light he was in this world. He had a remarkable gift for making life a little brighter simply by being in it. The moment he walked into a room, his smile, humor, and genuine warmth had a way of lighting it up. He always seemed to have a joke to share, a smile to offer, or a kind word for those around him. His presence brought laughter, joy, and a sense of connection that made people feel welcome and valued.
Beneath David’s wonderful sense of humor was a heart filled with generosity, compassion, and an extraordinary amount of love. He had a way of making people feel seen, appreciated, and important. Whether through a simple conversation, a shared laugh, or a thoughtful gesture, David left people better than he found them. His kindness was genuine, his spirit was generous, and his care for others was truly something special.
David was a valued team member at MORA for 25 years. His colleagues in the Metro Crisis Coordination Program (MCCP) called him a friend. He was someone the MCCP team was incredibly grateful to know and fortunate to work alongside. He approached his work with dedication, professionalism, and a deep commitment to the people he served. Throughout his years with MORA, he earned the respect and admiration of clients, their families, and fellow professionals throughout the field.
More than his professional accomplishments, David will be remembered for the compassion, humanity, and genuine care he brought to his work every day. The relationships he built reflected the remarkable person he was at his core. He made a difference not only through the work he did, but through the way he made people feel. His contributions to MORA, MCCP, and the many lives he touched will never be forgotten.
David’s impact reached far beyond the workplace. He touched countless lives through his laughter, kindness, generosity, and the love he shared so freely. Those who knew him will remember not only what he did, but how he made them feel. He had a special way of bringing light to ordinary moments, creating memories that will continue to bring smiles even in his absence.
While his loss leaves a deep ache in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, his legacy will live on in every life he touched, every laugh he inspired, and every act of kindness he shared. David will be deeply missed as a friend, coworker, dedicated professional, and truly wonderful human being.
May we remember him always for his unforgettable smile, his laughter, his generous heart, and the extraordinary love he brought into the world. Though his time with us has ended, the light David shared with the world will never be forgotten.
